Shebby is 100% designed in little old Taupō and manufactured right here in New Zealand. We don’t believe in outsourcing. No shortcuts. No cheap overseas manufacturing. No BS. Just high quality garments utilising our own amazing local fashion industry and all of the amazing humans working to keep it alive.
When you purchase a Shebby garment, you are supporting a chain of other local businesses from pattern makers, cutters, manufacturers, fabric wholesalers, trim suppliers, photographers and models to name a few.
Shebby aims to be a business that will ultimately create jobs in the NZ fashion industry where we feel there is so much undiscovered talent. Why would you go offshore to mass produce garments where you have no control over the supply chain, and when we have amazing makers right here in Aotearoa?

Here at Shebby we pride ourselves on supporting other local New Zealand businesses by using local companies to provide products and services in the manufacturing of our garments.
When we set out on our journey to build a New Zealand made fashion brand, we quickly found how increasingly difficult it is becoming to succeed in an industry that has now largely been outsourced to countries where, due to a number of factors, production is far cheaper.
Despite this, our passion and determination to support local has led to the formation of some wonderful relationships within the small NZ fashion industry.
OUR PACKAGING
All Shebby packaging has been carefully selected to align with our goals to make the fashion industry more environmentally friendly. Our postage satchels are 100% biodegradable, compostable bags printed with non-toxic inks.
We love coming up with new concepts for creative ways to package our items that are environmentally friendly.
Our offcuts
The fashion industry is notorious for it’s impact on the environment. Wastage and material offcuts are often sent to landfill. At Shebby, we want to ensure that we use every last piece possible. Offcuts from the cutting room floor are made into smaller items or donated to other organisations such as our local kindergarten.
It is as much about how good it looks as how good it feels.
All Shebby fabrics are sourced through New Zealand companies. A lot of thought goes into handpicking fabrics in order to ensure that when you put on a Shebby garment, it not only looks great, but also feels amazing.
No scratchy cheap fabrics are used, just luxe, soft materials that will stand the test of time.
